Who you'd be working with
I ship real products of my own - and I bring that same care to client web and mobile work.
I work solo and end to end: Swift for iOS, Android alongside it, and modern, dependency-light web tech on the sites. I've spent years building and running my own software - The Racing Line reaches over 100,000 motorsport fans every race weekend, and won Brand of the Year at the 2026 Race Media Awards - and I'm also building Stuc, a hiking companion for Scotland's hills.
Away from the keyboard I run ultra marathons and hold a UK motorsport racing licence - which is roughly how The Racing Line and Stuc came to exist. I build the things I want to use myself.
Every project gets the same search treatment my own products get: heavy emphasis on SEO and GEO, so people find you in Google and in whatever AI assistant they've started asking instead.

What do you build - web, mobile, or both?
Both. I'm a web and mobile developer: fast, modern websites and web apps, plus native mobile apps for iOS and Android. Plenty of projects are both at once - a site and an app that share the same content and the same brand.
Do you take on mobile app development for clients?
Yes. I build and run my own apps - The Racing Line ships on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple Vision and Android - and I take on client mobile work too, from a first release through App Store and Play Store review to ongoing updates.
What is GEO, and why does it matter?
GEO is Generative Engine Optimisation: getting your business found, understood and quoted by AI assistants like ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini and Google's AI Overviews. It's the natural companion to SEO, because a growing share of people now ask an AI rather than scrolling search results. I put heavy emphasis on both, so enquiries come direct to you instead of through paid ads or a marketplace.
You're in Scotland - can you work with clients elsewhere?
Yes. I'm based in Edinburgh and love working with Scottish businesses, but I work remotely with clients across the UK and worldwide - Charnwood Coatings & Fabrication in Loughborough is one recent example. The SEO and GEO work is built for global reach as standard, with local search signals added wherever they'll win you work.
